Dear Parents/Carers,
You’ll recall that Mr Russell has been Interim Principal at The Halley Academy (THA) since 1st January. This is because Mr Dixon has transferred to support a secondary school in Bexley that is being transferred to Leigh Academies Trust (LAT).
I can now confirm that this school will join LAT officially on 1st June to become its 31st academy and that Mr Dixon will become its substantive Principal, formally relinquishing his post at THA at the same time. As such, we have appointed Mr Russell as substantive Principal at THA from the same date.
This decision provides significant stability and continuity for staff, pupils and parents at THA and will enable us to build on the excellent work that Mr Russell and his team have been doing this year.
