This cohort of Post-16 students has faced unprecedented challenges and upheavals. They have been through this critical stage of their education at a remarkable time when all of us have suffered massive disruption to our lives.
Their courage and tenacity throughout has been inspiring. They have remained calm and focused on the task at hand and worked exceptionally hard to produce an excellent set of examination grades in A Levels, IB Diplomas, BTECs and other applied general qualifications.
Every single student in Leigh Academies Trust has had their assessments rigorously quality assured. All of them opening results today can feel proud of their achievements and know that each of the grades being awarded is grounded in strong evidence and is richly deserved.
Staff across the Trust have been exceptional in supporting students throughout the pandemic and also deserve considerable praise. They will look on with great joy today to see our excellent students taking their next positive step into further study, training or employment. We wish them all a fond farewell and hope they will stay in touch.
