Pupils, staff and governors at Hartley Primary Academy (part of Leigh Academies Trust) are celebrating after being graded ‘Outstanding’, for a second time in a row, in a recent Ofsted inspection.
The inspection, involving three inspectors from Ofsted, was comprehensive and rigorous, and the result is a glowing report on the work of all areas of the school.
The report, released today, outlines the high quality provision at the school and describes the successfully inclusive and ambitious nature of their work. It states that,
“Pupils flourish at this school. They are well motivated and learn how to become inquisitive and independent. Pupils behave impeccably in lessons. They strive to meet staff’s high expectations and hold each other to these standards too. Pupils feel safe in school. They know that staff will help them with any worries that they might have. Pupils delight in learning. They learn the importance of perseverance and demonstrate this when producing high-quality work across their subjects. Pupils make secure connections between the topics and concepts within the curriculum. Teachers help pupils build on their prior knowledge until they develop a deep understanding of the learning within the curriculum. Pupils achieve highly in all their subjects and perform extremely well in national examinations.”
Nicole Galinis, Principal, said
‘I could not be more proud of our staff and pupils. Hartley is a school which aims to give every student the best possible education and this report highlights that and more. Our pupils are amazing and inspectors noted their enthusiasm for learning, support for their peers and exceptional behaviour throughout the visit.
The report gives high praise to them, and quite rightly so, as they are the ones who make the school such a wonderful place to learn and work. The report also recognises the quality of the staff at the school and I would also like to put on record my thanks to our staff. Time and time again, they go above and beyond the call of duty in order to create an environment where students want to do well and feel cared for. I am incredibly lucky to work with such a wonderful team. Finally, I would like to thank Leigh Academies Trust for the invaluable support they give the school, allowing us to focus purely on the wellbeing and education of our young people’.
Simon Beamish, Chief Executive Officer of The Leigh Academies Trust, said

On behalf of Leigh Academies Trust, I extend our heartfelt gratitude to Nicole and her team for their exceptional work. Their efforts epitomise our mission of delivering ‘education for a better world’, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.”
