Peninsula East Primary Academy is proud to announce the outcomes of its Ofsted inspection that took place 21st and 22nd May 2024. This marks the first inspection since the academy was formed by merging Stoke Primary Academy and Allhallows Primary Academy in September 2021. The academy has achieved a ‘Good’ rating for overall effectiveness, with the majority of the categories rated as ‘Outstanding’, demonstrating the school is well on its way to being outstanding overall.
Ofsted inspectors celebrated the academy for its “exemplary behaviour and attitudes” noting, “Pupils with responsibilities such as the head boy and head girl lead by example.” Inspectors also noted that pupils are “highly engaged in their lessons and are flourishing in an environment where independence is promoted.” This nurturing atmosphere contributes significantly to the vibrant learning community at Peninsula East.
The leadership and management at the academy and across the wider Trust have been instrumental in steering these positive changes since the merger, with Ofsted highlighting the strategic leadership that has led to continuous improvements. Personal development was also rated as ‘Outstanding’, with an emphasis on how the academy fosters resilience and confidence, preparing pupils for future success.
The Early Years provision received particular praise for its ambitious curriculum, which is well sequenced from the outset, ensuring a strong start for our youngest learners.
Principal Lorna Rimmer said,
“I am very proud of the remarkable achievements our academy has made, as reflected in this inspection. The report is a shining endorsement of the passion, dedication and resilience exhibited not just by our wonderful staff, but equally by our enthusiastic pupils whose zest for learning and growth knows no bounds. Every day, I am privileged to witness firsthand the thriving spirit and the collective pursuit of excellence that resonates through our classrooms. This success is a testament to the power of community and the positive partnerships that now exist between our teachers, parents and carers, and the wider peninsula community.”
Simon Beamish, CEO of Leigh Academies Trust, commented on the merger:
“Merging Stoke Primary Academy and Allhallows Primary Academy was a controversial and difficult decision to make. However, sometimes the right decisions are the ones that are hardest to deliver and it is clear that since the merger the academy has gone from strength to strength. This report clearly demonstrates that the academy is already ‘Outstanding’ in many ways and that its success has united the communities of Stoke and Allhallows for generations to come.”
