Once we have received your UCAS application we will be in touch to arrange a formal interview with regard to offering you a training place. The following will feature in all interviews:
- A formal interview with representatives from Kent and Medway Training, Leigh Academies Trust and the mentor with whom you will be working throughout your training year;
- A lesson observation lasting between 15 and 30 minutes based around your experience; this may be with a class of students, or we may ask you to plan and present your lesson to the interview panel;
- Copies of original documents such as university degrees, GCSE certificates and certification of the right to work in the UK;
- Completion of two tests lasting roughly two hours: a GCSE paper on your subject and a key stage 2 level 5 standard test (for primary candidates only) – all papers are unseen and provided on the day.
Please rest assured that all aspects of the interview are designed to assess your strengths and identify any gaps for which we could provide support. All panel members will be familiar faces by the time the interview is conducted and we will provide as much information and notice as possible to assist you in doing the best you can.
