Appointment of Deputy CEOs (Education)

Leigh Academies Trust (LAT) is delighted to announce the appointment of two Deputy CEOs for Education. This follows the appointment of Richard Taylor as Deputy CEO (Operations) last academic year and the recent retirement of Debbie Biggenden, one of our three Academies Directors.

Starting in September, Tracey Trusler and Emma Elwin, our two remaining and highly experienced Academies Directors, will become Deputy CEOs (Education). They will take responsibility for half of LAT’s academies each – East and West. In addition, they will be responsible for our team of Education Advisors and lead strategically on all aspects of the new Ofsted Toolkit across academies.

To ensure our central team of senior education leaders is at full strength and that LAT is positioned well for further growth and development, we intend to appoint two Academies Directors in March. One will report to Tracey and the other to Emma; both will be full members of the LAT central team. They will share responsibility for LAT academies in the East or West to ensure that our academy leadership teams continue to enjoy exceptional levels of support.

Commenting on their appointments, our new Deputy CEOs for Education said:

“Having been part of the Trust for almost 15 years, I am really looking forward to the next phase of our development and growth. I am confident that this new structure will allow us to achieve even greater things for the communities we serve.”

Tracey Trusler

“I am absolutely thrilled by this incredible opportunity. Our academies are at the heart of everything we do, and I can’t wait to step into this new role to continue collaborating with our dedicated teams. I am confident we will build on our strong foundations to drive forward even greater success and outcomes for the 24,000 pupils across the Trust.”
