Students have received post 16 results today across Leigh Academies Trust’s (LAT) 16 sixth forms. These offer a wide range of programmes: A Levels, BTECs, IB Diplomas and T Levels. We have seen significant growth this year in the numbers of students receiving results in our thriving sixth forms. This includes a 10% increase in academic entries, a 7% increase in applied entries and a 73% increase in T level entries.

Regarding the government’s new T Level programmes, students from six LAT centres have received results this year, up from just one last year. These are: The Leigh UTC, Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy; Longfield Academy; Wilmington Academy; Leigh Academy Halley and Leigh Stationers’ Academy.

We are delighted with the results of our students. These show that students perform better in LAT sixth forms than the average for sixth forms nationally. The provisional value added score for academic programmes is +0.14 and for applied programmes is +0.12. Despite a 73% increase in the number of T Level entries, we are delighted that our students have achieved an average grade of a Distinction+.

Staff have spent the day supporting students to ensure they also achieve excellent destinations. There will be much to celebrate over the next few days and we wish all of our students the very best for the future.
