The Halley Academy is delighted to announce that, following a rigorous selection process by the Department for Education, we will be one of a few privileged schools nationwide to deliver the T Level programme from September 2023.
The Department for Education has informed us that we are registered to deliver the Digital Support Services and Health & Science routes which will be a key feature of our STEM offer. This is a unique opportunity for the Academy and we are extremely proud to be able to provide this learning experience for our students. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to a curriculum of excellence for all, offering a variety of high quality, internationally renowned, academic and vocational qualifications. We will also be adding Engineering to our offer to take full advantage of our state of the art Engineering & Design Centre due to open in September 2021.
The T Level qualification is a 2-year course that follows on from GCSE and is equivalent to 3 A Levels. T Levels were launched in September 2020 and have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the course content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work, further training or higher education.

‘This is a further development of our sixth form offer at The Halley Academy, having already become an IB World School and delivering successfully the International Baccalaureate Careers Programme qualification. Students completing the T Level Programme will also benefit from working on industry based activities and participating in a nine-week industrial placement.’
This offer will mean that, from 2023, students in the sixth form will be able to follow either an academic or technical route as they continue with their learning journey at The Halley. T Levels will provide several progression options to students and gives them a broad experience of the world of work. Our links with a range of employers will grow which will benefit our student community as part of our Careers programme. This programme also further strengthens the working partnership with the Tallow Chandlers, who kindly support our employer engagement opportunities for students in all year groups, as well as our STEM curriculum developments.
