Dear Parents/Carers,

You’ll be aware that Mrs Libby Fidock was appointed Principal of Marden Primary in the autumn term following the departure of Mrs Thomas. At the time, we explained that Mrs Fidock would assume this post for the rest of the academic year until a new substantive Principal was appointed.

I am delighted to tell you that following a national recruitment search and rigorous selection process, involving senior executives and governors from across Leigh Academies Trust, we have appointed a new Principal to start on 1st September 2021. The successful candidate is Mr Niall Dosad.

Mr Dosad is currently a senior leader of a large and high-performing primary in East London rated outstanding by Ofsted. Commenting on his appointment, he said,

“I am delighted to call Marden my new school and I am looking forward to starting working with the children, staff and the wider Marden community in September. This is a very proud moment for me personally and professionally; I endeavour to provide the best possible education that the children of Marden deserve.”

There is much important work that Mrs Fidock still has to do this academic year to make the necessary improvements at Marden. The immediate priority is to ensure the safe return of all pupils back to school on 8th March once the current lockdown restrictions begin to ease. Following that she looks forward to working with Mr Dosad to ensure a smooth transition in time for September.

Yours faithfully,

Simon Beamish
LAT Chief Executive
