Hundred of Hoo Academy’s trip to Mid Kent College

As part of Careers at The Hundred of Hoo Academy, Mrs Lock arranged a visit to Mid Kent College with the pupils from the St. Werburgh Centre.

Throughout the morning students took part in guided tours visiting different areas of the college to see what courses are on offer to them after they leave the academy. Pupils got to visit animal care where they were given the chance to see snakes, spiders, rabbits, birds, fish and Turtles. Students were also treated to several performances by Mid Kent College students in the recording studios where they asked the college students questions on the courses they are studying. They visited the hospitality and catering departments and spoke with the chef about the course he teaches. This visit enabled the students to have a clearer picture of what student life would be like and will help them in planning for what they would like to do in the future.
