We are delighted to publish the Ofsted letter for Eastcote Primary Academy in Bexley following their recent inspection. The lead inspector, Sir Robin Bosher, identified significant and sustained improvement at Eastcote and has recommended that inspectors visit again soon for a full two-day inspection to test the hypothesis that the academy is now outstanding.
Eastcote joined Leigh Academies Trust (LAT) in February 2016 as a securely good school. Since then, further progress has been rapid and secure leading to a range of highly complimentary observations detailed in the recently published inspection letter.
Results across the academy were strong in 2017 and have improved again in 2018 following recent SATs results where 88% of pupils achieved the combined national standard in reading, writing and maths. More than half of all teaching at the academy is already of an outstanding quality with nothing less than securely good. All other indicators such as attendance and pupils’ behaviour are highly impressive.
Our considerable congratulations to Mr Ball, Eastcote’s Principal, and his terrific team of staff and pupils. We look forward to Ofsted’s return visit, hopefully next year, to confirm Eastcote as LAT’s next outstanding academy.
