During the February half term 21 of Mascalls Academy’s GCSE Spanish students spent four days exploring the beautiful city of Barcelona. They were lucky enough to have glorious sunshine in a perfect setting for students to immerse themselves in Spanish culture through a very thorough exploration of the city. Highlights included a cable car ride across the port, visiting the iconic Sagrada Familia, watching (and performing in) a flamenco show and, of course, a tour of Camp Nou.
The students really made the most of the opportunities they had to practice their Spanish from conversing with shop attendants to participating in language lessons as well as answering the Spanish teachers’ non-stop questions (¿qué hay en la foto chicos?) and references to vocabulary for the GCSE exam!
Staff who accompanied the students commented that it was a pleasure to take such a lovely group of students who were a real credit to Mascalls Academy.
