YEAR 7 TOP TIPS FOR STARTING SECONDARY SCHOOL

Next term we will be welcoming Year 6 students who will be joining our academies in September.  At Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy, staff thought they would  ask their our current Year 7s for their top tips for starting secondary school and also, what it is they love best about SCWA:

Top Tips

  • Get involved.
  • Be on time.
  • Do your best in every subject.
  • Be confident when it comes to making new friends.
  • Be kind to others and show respect.
  • Join loads of clubs.
  • Bring a positive attitude to school with you.
  • Don’t forget your Planner and pencil case.
  • Always get your Planner signed.
  • Keep a good attendance record.
  • Make sure you always hand in homework on time.
  • Never give up.
  • Don’t worry, it will be OK.
  • Make new friends.
  • Always remember your ‘Super 7’: pen, pencil, ruler, rubber, green pen, sharpener and calculator.
  • Be yourself.
  • Remember your PE Kit.
  • Listen to the teacher.
  • Don’t get your phone out in class.
  • Be positive.
  • Have fun, be yourself and enjoy it!

  • Everyone is welcoming, your friends are supportive and all your teachers are really kind.
  • If you get a detention it’s OK because you can learn from your mistakes.
  • It’s a very intelligent school and you will get a good job when you are older.
  • The food is amazing!
  • You get to make and learn about new things which I have never heard of before.
  • Teachers help you if you are struggling.
  • They care about all of us here and they care for all disabilities….. In science you do a lot of experiments.
