Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy was delighted to host its first Careers Student Question time on Wednesday 10th October in partnership with the Stationers’ Livery Company.
Based upon the popular TV show, a panel of diverse business people were invited to the academy to answer students questions on their career paths.
Ably Chaired by Stationer, Rupert Knowles of Piano, the panel consisted of Vice Chair of Governors, Gavin Harran, Executive Director at JP Morgan , Angela Wilson, CEO of Angela’s SwimSchool , Adebola Lamuye, journalism apprentice at the London Evening Standard and Chair of Governors and fellow Stationer, Sue Pandit.
Student Question Time was open to all academy students from years 10 and above and their parents and carers. In addition, groups of students from fellow LAT academies, The Halley Academy, The Leigh UTC, The Leigh Academy and Longfield Academy also attended along with students from non LAT Shooters Hill College.
Working with their teachers beforehand, students tailored some intriguing questions to the biographies of our guests. Panellists gave detailed answers to, for example:
What excites you about your job?
Have you ever made mistakes?
Did your homelife/ethnicity help you in your career?
Is it worth going to University?
How will technology change your industry?
Sincere thanks to all attendees and to our panellists for some very insightful responses.
We look forward to a further Student Careers Question Time in January 2019.
