On Tuesday 10th January 2017, Strood Academy officially launched its partnership with Leigh Academies Trust (LAT) with an unveiling of a plaque that will be displayed in the main reception. Senior staff from Leigh Academies Trust including Simon Beamish (CEO) and Neil Willis (Deputy CEO) attended and celebrated along with Strood Academy staff after the Regional Schools Commissioner approved the Strood Academy Governors’ request to be part of the Trust as of 1 January 2017.
Staff were addressed by Chairman of LAT, Bob Findlay who spoke about our economic purpose as educators, and David Mead, Vice Chair of Strood Academy Board of Governors, who commented on our moral purpose to provide students with the best outcomes allowing them to develop into well educated, caring citizens who play a part in the growth of our economy. Both messages were extremely well received. LAT and Strood Academy are very much looking forward to working together.
Simon Beamish commented: “LAT is proud that Strood Academy has now joined our family of schools. We look forward to working together and learning from each other to produce even more opportunities for Medway children.”
