Wilmington Academy students approved by The Peter Jones Foundation

Leigh Academies Trust is proud to announce Wilmington Academy’s first year of involvement with Tycoon in Schools, a national entrepreneurial competition. Run by the Peter Jones Foundation, Tycoon in Schools funds loans of up to £1000 to secondary school students to create their own small business.

This year Wilmington Academy were fortunate to have three teams approved by the Foundation and they are busy trading their wares until the end of the trading phase. Pineapple Prints makes original artwork for gamers and geeks; Golden Loot sells accessories such as portable phone chargers, headphones and cases; and Bling It Up! takes everyday accessories such as brushes and compact mirrors and creates personalised “blinging” of these items for their customers. Trading ends on the 16th December, when students will complete a final evaluation and go into the running to attend a special awards ceremony in London in the New Year. Leigh Academies Trust and Wilmington Academy are so proud of our entrepreneurs and wish them every success in their sales!
