Ernst and Young at Longfield Academy

A number of Year 12 students at Longfield Academy had the opportunity to sit in on a presentation from Deborah Chandler, an IT Project Manager from EY.

The programme known as Smart Futures offers young people the opportunity to apply for paid work experience placements from Ernst & Young, one of the top accountancy firms in the world.

Their strapline is “Building a Better Working World” and they are hoping to work with young people to enhance their prospects through the EY Foundation.

Smart Futures is a ten month programme which the students are able to apply for. There will be a rigorous interview process following an online application. Successful applicants will gain a worthwhile experience that will help them in all future applications.

Not only does the programme offer paid work experience but it also offers the opportunity of an additional Level 2 qualification in Team Leading. During the placement, successful students will have an invaluable business experience which will include mentoring throughout. All students participating in the programme will be invited to EY Smart Futures alumni events and will gain valuable support with their UCAS applications.
