Leigh Academy Work Experience Week: 18th-22nd July 2016

Work Experience week in July was a great success. In total, 209 Year 10 students from The Leigh Academy took part in various placements including retail, banks, vets, sports coaching and even with a master thatcher. All the students enjoyed their time in the working world with quite a few being offered part time work. The general feedback from employers has been fantastic and all of our students were great ambassadors for the school.

We will be launching next year’s soon which will be taking place 17th – 21st July 2017.

Below are some comments from the students:

“I have really had a good time working there. It has given me an idea of what this career is like and settled my nerves towards the working world.” – Year 10 Student

“I really enjoyed my week, it has helped me in many new skills and opened my eyes to the real world.” – Year 10 student

“I would recommend work experience because it’s a good experience and you learn a lot of new things and you meet new people.” – Year 10 Student
