Appointment of new Principal for Hartley Primary Academy

Following a successful interview process, I am delighted to announce that Mrs Sarah Goosani has been appointed as the new Principal of Hartley Primary Academy following the retirement of Mrs Lorraine Hollingworth at Easter this year.

Mrs Goosani has held senior leadership positions in primary schools in Kent and London. She has also worked in a senior capacity within Kent County Council. Her appointment was made by the unanimous verdict of academy governors and representatives from Leigh Academies Trust.

Mrs Goosani’s appointment secures the continued progress of Hartley Primary Academy. It is our strong belief that Hartley is already an ‘Outstanding’ school. The challenge now is to sustain and extend its existing very high level of performance. Mrs Goosani’s strong track record in senior roles in schools and the local authority provides her with the knowledge, skills and experience required to undertake her new role effectively. We very much look forward to her joining us after Easter.

Governors and the Trust would also like to pay tribute and convey their considerable thanks for the enormous impact made by Mrs Hollingworth in her decade in charge of Hartley Primary. She will be a very tough act to follow and sorely missed. We wish her all the very best of health and happiness in retirement.
