Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy students’ success in Chance to be Chancellor Competition

On Tuesday 1st December, Will Donnelly and Yuliia Tereschuk both attended the awards evening for the Worshipful Company of International Bankers’ annual Chance to be Chancellor essay-writing competition.

The awards which were held in the City of London headquarters of ING bank were recognising both students’ highly commended entries to the competition and as winner, Will received a first prize of £100 while, as runner-up Yuliia, received £50. The awards were presented to our students by the Master of the WCIB, Michael Llewelyn- Jones, and a number of other members of the company took the time to discuss their entries with our students and to find out more about their aspirations and provide some advice.

One member of the guild who was particularly keen to congratulate Will and Yuliia was Reg Baker as he had lived for many years in Eltham and as both his children had attended Crown Woods, he was delighted to see our students so ably representing the school which he had such affection for.
